This week I visited the Dennis W. Dutzi Gallery which held the Paradox exhibit. This exhibit featured the works of many artist that centered around paradox. One example of this was that there were letters on the wall that read “You are not here.” The types of works in the gallery ranged from lithography, etching, and printmaking. Clare Samani made a picture of a girl on top of a stack of boulders using lithography.
Although all the artists were not at the gallery, Samani was there to explain all the art that was displayed. I learned that printmaking can be done on almost anything but it is most commonly done on paper. This gallery was not very interesting. The gallery seemed to me a bit too overwhelming. There were many different artist’s works, different types of works, and different ways of making them such as lithography.
